A Simple Way to Print Out iPhone Text Messages Without Using 3rd Party Apps

I found a neat and simple way to print out and/or do analytics on text messages from an iOS backup folder. The backup folder is automatically created after backing up the iPhone with the iTunes App. On OS X (I’m using a 2013 MacBook Pro, aka, the best), the iPhone backup will be located here:

~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/

Then search for a file called 3d0d7e5fb2ce288813306e4d4636395e047a3d28, this will be an Sqlite database that has all of your iPhone’s text messages.

Python code:

The python code above will query the text message database to get the following: 1) the date and time of the message, 2) who the message is from 3) the content of the text message. You will need to add the phone number or contact id, +INSERT_PHONE_NUMBER, of the person for whom you want to print out text messages.

That’s pretty much all.
